Welcome - Young Passionist

The Australian Federal Government has made available a World Youth Day Visa for up to three (3) months stay in Australia. The Visa Application Process is part of the one line World Youth Day Sydney (WYDSYD) Registration Process. The WYDSYD Computer is linked with Australian Immigration.

For countries that have an open at border visa arrangement (eg Australia with USA, UK, Ireland), completion of the Registration Forms and full payment of Registration Fees with WYDSYD will need to occur. Visa will usually be granted automatically.

For all other countries, applicants will also require letters of endorsement from the Passionist Leader in that country and/or the local Passionist World Youth Day (WYDCP) Co-ordinator, guaranteeing financial support while in Australia. Some countries may have additional requirements. If you have difficulties, please contact your Diocesan or Country WYD Office.

We strongly recommend that Registration and Visa applications occur before 1 March so that sufficient time is available for processing by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (Visa Section). Please contact us if you have difficulties and we can sort this through with our WYDSYD contacts.

If you have not paid your full registration fee on arrival in Australia, the Immigration Computer will reject your entry.
